Rare watches sell for thousands in UK auction

An auction held by Watches of Knightsbridge saw heated bidding as collectors snapped up valuable timepieces, with a rare Rolex chronograph wristwatch, reference 3780 and retailed by Giudici Milano circa 1940, fetching £10,950.

Others watches in the auction included:

Lot 31: A rare 18k solid gold and black enamel Cartier European Watch and Clock Co. pocket watch, circa 1922. Sold for £4,380.

Lot 49: A German navy Blancpain “Fifty Fathoms” combat diver’s wristwatch, circa the 1960s. Sold for £7,910.

Lot 50: A German navy Blancpain “Fifty Fathoms” Bund combat diver’s wristwatch, circa the 1960s. Sold for £6,690.

Lot 83: An 18k solid gold Cartier Paris sapphire & diamond bracelet watch, circa the 1980s. Sold for £8,510.

Lot 328: A titanium and steel Panerai Luminor Blackseal wristwatch, circa 2002, from a special edition of 300 pieces. Sold for £6,690.

Lot 332: A stainless steel Patek Philippe wristwatch, reference 3419, retailed by Lortscher in the 1960s. Sold for £5,470.

Lot: 383 A Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner bracelet watch with original “gilt” dial, circa 1966. Sold for £ 5,470.

Lot 452: A rare Universal Genève Compax chronograph wristwatch, circa the 1970s. Sold for £2,675.

Lot 453: A rare Universal Genève Aero-Compax chronograph wristwatch, circa the 1960s. Sold for £3,650.

Lot 454: A Universal Genève Tri-Compax calendar moonphase chronograph wristwatch, circa the 1940s. Sold for £2,070.

Lot 457: An 18k solid gold Vacheron & Constantin Chronometre Royal wristwatch, circa the 1950s. Sold for £4,620.

The next auction from Watches of Knightsbridge, which was founded on Portobello Road over 50 years ago, is scheduled for November 23rd.
