Rado embarks on re-design of 1962 divers watch

The new model adds fresh details such as an XXL case size and a black textile strap, aimed at the modern male explorer.

Rado has released a new design of its Tradition Captain Cook MKIII, aiming to bring the vintage look of its 1962 divers watch to the modern day.

The new model adds fresh details such as an XXL case size and a black textile strap aimed at the modern male explorer.

The MKIII incorporates a grade 5 titanium construction giving the piece scratch resistance while the luminous dial provides easy readability.

In reworking the look of the original Captain Cook, Rado has added a lug-less case design which means the MKIII fits all wrist sizes, while the convex rotating turning bezel keeps timekeeping precision.

The movement features a power reserve of up to 80 hours and the MKIII is water resistant to 220 metres.

This addition to the Rado offering comes just a month after the Swiss-based brand launched a new addition in its True collection.
