The watch and jewellery industry has turned up in force for one of the biggest events in the industry’s calendar.

Six-day trade show Baselworld, which is hosting over 600 watch and jewellery brands, opened its doors to guests yesterday.

Watch brands, including TAG Heuer, Bvlgari, Rolex and Nomos Glashutte, have touched down at the show in Switzerland and have gone on to reveal their latest innovations in timepiece manufacturing.

A selection of show highlights from event’s first day can be found below.

The show, which boasted approximately 1,500 exhibitors in 2014 and ran for eight days, has reduced its size in recent years in a bid to promote quality.

The Swiss watch industry has endured two difficult years with global exports falling, particularly to Hong Kong and the USA.
