Phillips holds UK viewing for Geneva watch auction

Collectors and trade buyers in the UK have until Sunday, April 26, to visit a pre-auction viewing of fine watches that will go under the hammer in Geneva in May.

Phillips is holding the viewing at its Mayfair headquarters on Berkeley Square.

The Geneva auction takes place over two days. May 9 is dedicated to Rolex’s most collectable model, the Day-Date, and comprises 60 rare examples, many of which can be traced to VIP owners including royalty from around the world.

The following day on May 10 the attention switches to a more mixed auction with 160 fine watches. The top lot is expected to be a 1927 Patek Philippe Ref. 130 that has an estimate of CHF 1-2 million.

Details of the auctions are found on a new web site, Phillipswatches.com, which allows customers to register for updates and learn about all the watches in the sales. It also links to the main Phillips.com site, which accepts online bids from registered users.
