Paul Smith’s love of cycling is captured in a new book and watch design

The British designer’s love of cycling is well known and cycling references often find their way into his work. His recent book, ‘Paul Smith’s Cycling Scrapbook’ digs into his love of the sports, while the new ‘Track’ watch is inspired by the velodrome.

Containing over 400 images and illustrations, Paul Smith’s Cycling Scrapbook is a personal history of the sport Paul loves so much. Opening with a foreword from Paul’s friend David Millar, the scrapbook illustrates Paul’s favourite people, races and places in the cycling world through the romantic and beautiful images that have inspired him.

As a companion to this, the new ‘Track’ watch takes references from the classic stopwatches used to keep time in the velodrome. The design of the watch dial is simple and clean, while subtle dots of colour are introduced at every hour index. Each hour is a different colour with the addition of a dark red second hand, referencing traditional stopwatch design.

The ‘Track’ is a slim watch with a three-hand movement and a 41mm case. The range features black and brown leather strap models and steel and Black PVD coated Milanese bracelets. The case metals are available in stainless steel, rose-gold plating and black PVD plating with a range of coloured dials, including; blue, silver and black.

Track models start from £179 RRP and Paul Smith’s Cycling Scrapbook is available now from paulsmith.co.uk
