Patek Philippe continues to trump Rolex in lyrical mentions on US Billboard chart

In 2017, Patek Philippe was referenced on 140 occasions in the list, in more than one third of all songs.

Patek Philippe has continued to top the list for the most lyrical song references this year, according to data from lyric website Genius.

This follows the data last year which shows how Patek Philippe was mentioned on 140 occasions and in one third of all songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list.

This compared to 55 mentions for Rolex and 53 mentions for Audemars Piguet.

The numbers show Patek Philippe as the most popular brand among US rappers, with the likes of Migos, Young Thug and Beyonce making frequent reference to the Swiss-based watchmaker in their work.

This year’s music has continued the trend and has referenced Patek a total of 72 times, which once again beats Audemars Piguet and Rolex, which received 35 and 34 mentions respectively, to the top spot.

Patek have more than double the mentions of Rolex in number two, and could beat the record it set itself last year if the music industry continues to choose the brand as its luxury timepiece of choice.
