Pangbourne donates watch to round-the-world flight

Independent British watch manufacturer Pangbourne London is sponsoring a round-the-world flight in aid of charity.

Pilot Dave McElroy will wear a Pangbourne London DP-01, worth £11,644.80 and donated by the manufacturer, as he attempts the FlyRTW80 charity global circumnavigation attempt in a single engine Piper Comanche airplane with Chris Elgar.

The pair will attempt the epic flight, covering more than 42,000 nautical miles, 60 airports, 25 countries and six continents over the course of 80 days. During this time the watch will be placed at auction on the Watchuseek forums and website.

When the FlyRTW80 flight makes it back to Perth Airport in Scotland, scheduled for 6 August, the bidding will close with all proceeds going to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance based at the same airport.

The Pangbourne LondonDP-01 was designed and manufactured by Daniel Pangbourne as a cockpit instrument for pilots and the watch’s UTC 24hr function and circular flight computer is sure to aid flight planning and inflight calculations.
