Oris propilot

Oris flies higher than ever

Oris has incorporated its in-house developed Calibre 111 movement into its Big Crown ProPilot family, revealing the Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111.

The popular ProPilot line is Oris’s aviation offering, and it is the first time that the Calibre 11 has featured elsewhere in the Oris collection. It represents further strides by the Swiss brand into the world of movement manufacturing, following the launch of its Calibre 110 last year.

Like its predecessor, Calibre 111 is a hand-wound movement with a 10-day power reserve and a patented non-linear power reserve indicator. A date function has also been added in a window at 9 o’clock, creating a unique trio of complications.

As you’d expect, the watch’s design takes its cues from the aviation-inspired Big Crown ProPilot collection. It has a multi-piece 44mm case made from satin-finished stainless steel, and a coin-edged bezel inspired by jet engine turbines. The non-linear power reserve indicator on the dial has been designed to look like an aeroplane fuel gauge.

The Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111 is also the only timepiece in the Big Crown ProPilot collection to be fitted with a genuine Louisiana crocodile leather strap, although it is also available with either a textile strap or a stainless steel bracelet.
