Omega unleashes six-pronged offering spearheaded by Speedmaster

Omega has unveiled a range of six lines at Baselworld including two Speedmasters and three Seamasters, currently celebrating their 60th anniversary.

The lines it is featuring are: The Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Chronometer Ladies’ Collection; The Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Chronometer Collection; The Seamaster Planet Ocean “Big Blue”; The Speedmaster 38 mm; The Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer and The OMEGA 1957 Trilogy Limited Editions.

The watch brand brings a Speedmaster 38mm and a Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer to the playing field, which it hopes will be particularly strong given the anniversary and the weight it has put behind its extensive marketing campaign.

Fourteen new models will make up the complete Speedmaster 38 mm collection. Whilst maintaining the core DNA of the watch certain models have a diamond-paved bezel while also keeping the Speedmaster’s famous tachymeter scale.

The Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer is comprised of two models. The first is stainless steel with a matt-black dial, a polished ceramic bezel with a brushed Liquidmetal tachymeter scale, and orange wording that matches the colour of the varnished hands and tip of the seconds hand. The second has been crafted from 18ct Sedna gold. The colour blue is used for the dial, the leather strap, and the ceramic bezel with its Ceragold tachymeter scale.

Meanwhile, the three Seamasters present the broadest range of watches Omega is exhibiting. It is hoped they will prove popular with retailers looking for a retake on an old classic.

Omega’s trilogy of limited editions is inspired by the release of The Seamaster 300, the Railmaster and the Speedmaster in 1957.

Special anniversary versions have been created and all three watches, designed to be collected individually or presented as a trio, are cased in brushed and polished stainless steel and feature black ‘tropical’ dials.

All logos on the watches are in a different style. A reference to how suppliers back in the 50’s all interpreted the Omega logo in their own way, the brand says.

Each watch is limited to 3,557 pieces and delivered inside a presentation box inspired by the original 1957 packaging.
