October auction sees Rolex and Omega up for sale

Newbury-based Special Auction Services are holding a Watch and Pocket Watch Auction next month featuring pieces from Rolex, Omega and Cartier.

The sale takes place on Tuesday 15 October and the highlight is expected to be an 18ct gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date which has an estimate of £4,000-£6,000.

Fans of Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual ‘bubbleback’ will be in for a treat with a gold example from the 1950s up for auction (est £2,000-£3,000) as well as an earlier example in stainless steel (est £400-£600).

Fans of the Moonwatch will also be eager to bid on a 1969 Omega Speedmaster Professional Mark II (est £800-£1,200).

Also going under the hammer is a rare early 20th century Russian chronograph pocket watch by August Ericsson made for the Russian Imperial Navy with a Longines signed dial (estimate £400-600) and a 1970s Hamilton W10 (estimate £100-200).

And with an incredibly low estimate of between £400 and £600, an 18ct Cartier Vendome complete with its original box and paperwork is sure to be a salesroom favourite.

Other lots include watches from Jaeger-LeCoultre and Longines. Those not able to attend in person can bid online at the-saleroom.com or place a phone or commission bid. For more information visit www.specialauctionservices.com
