Nomos rolls out ultra thin auto in 10 new watches

Nomos has introduced ten new models throughout its offer which make use of the German brand’s in-house developed and manufactured ultra-thin automatic movement, the DUW 3001.

The so-called Neomatik models appear as versions of Nomos’ existing core Tangente, Minimatik, Orion, Metro and Ludwig collections, offered in white and champagne dial options. White dial models feature blue highlights whilst the Champagne dial models use neon orange markings.

Each watch employs Nomos’ DUW 3001 automatic movement, which measures just 3.2mm high and is the tenth movement developed by the Glashutte manufacture.

Uwe Ahrendt, Nomos chief executive officer, said: “This movement is ready for series production, and Nomos Glashutte for its launch into new market segments.”

The DUW 3001 was first shown at Baselworld this year, where it was used inside the Minimatik, a favourite of the WatchPro team. The movement took three years of research and development and was produced by the same team behind Nomos’ own escapement, the Swing System.

The launch of the new models will be marked with a special 1st Edition production series in 2015, then after a short pause serial production will continue in 2016.
