Nick Bassett has joined Argento Fine Products as the sales manager for Frederique Constant and Alpina Watches.
Bassett has extensive experience in retail beginning his career with jeweller the H L Brown Group, before going onto manage Bright & Sons in Scarborough and then joining the Goldsmiths Group in 1989, where he managed various stores over a 13 year period. Bassett then joined Preston & Duckworth in York.
He then left the trade in 2005 and spent six years as an administrator in professional football before moving to a role with the London 2012 Olympics.
In his new role, Bassett will apply his experience to the distribution of Frederique Constant and Alpina, in Scotland and Northern England, playing a role in expansion plans for the brands.
Bassett said: "Having worked with Giuseppe and Claudia at Argento Fine Products as suppliers on previous occasions and enjoyed their loyal support, I am delighted to return to the trade with them for this exciting new challenge.
"As part of an independent, family-owned company, both the Frederique Constant and Alpina brands have a great deal to offer and I am particularly impressed by the quality and finish of these products. They offer great value for money and give the consumer the opportunity to own a timepiece with a manufacture movement for a relatively small outlay. I believe that these brands have a great future in the UK and it’s great to see key retailers already offering their support. I’m looking forward to a long and successful association with Argento Fine Products and these two intriguing brands."
