New British luxury watch brand sets sights on growth

New British luxury watch brand Farer has unveiled its first watch designs as it bids to establish itself in the UK market.

The timepieces are designed in Britain and made in Switzerland, with each model named after iconic British explorers.

The company says it chose explorers as they perfectly define its own values of being “daring, courageous and filled with wanderlust”.

Each watch features a 39.5mm case with a brushed stainless steel and rim. The vintage-inspired domed sapphire crystal glass gives the watches a true retro feel, featuring a 10mm depth and a curved sunray dial in various colour way finishes.

The rhodium plated hands come in an array of bright colours, accenting each watch with a unique combination of hues.

The crown of each Farer watch is coated in bronze and bears the iconic brand emblem. The straps feature luxurious Italian leather or vintage inspired stainless steel Milanese straps – and in keeping with the ethos of adventure and travel, the straps are interchangeable, taking the wearer from a rugged weekend to a city adventure with ease.

RRRP for the watches is £340 to £420, with the brand signing an exclusive deal with Selfridges.

Farer was founded by four British colleagues and friends with a lifetimes experience in horology, fashion and product design.

They share a common passion for the halcyon era of watchmaking and say they created Farer with an ambition to bring back some of the stand-out principles that led to the production of such unique time pieces. This includes bold colours, contrasting textures and relentless dedication to detail, all of which are characteristic of classic British design.
