New brand builds watches from classic cars

The unlikely partnership of muscle car metal and Swiss watchmaking has resulted in the latest watch, and watch brand, to be announced for BaselWorld.

Le Rhöne Genève seeks to marry historic American automotive icons with traditional watchmaking craftsmanship and avant-garde technology.

In the case of the company’s first watch the Road Racer, the watch is ‘made of’ certificated material from a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS.
Crafting the watch took the combined expertise of Le Rhöne Genève, Dubois-Depraz, Soprod, Magnin and Multicuirs with more partners to be announced at the Basel show.

Rose gold and steel versions of the watch will be available using a Dubois Depraz DD 2017 module on a Soprod A10 automatic chronograph movement with 44 hour power reserve.
