Movado unveils its first smartwatch at Baselworld

Movado unveiled its first smartwatch at Baselworld yesterday.

The new collection is based on the latest Google Android Wear 2.0 platform, and includes digital watch faces that feature iconic Movado styles including the golden moon at 12 o’clock.

Other Movado group brands including Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss are partnering also partnering with Google with connected watches launching in autumn.

Retailers will see the Movado smartwatch at the end of March, and it will be ready to go on sale after summer in a collection of five men’s styles with a starting price of £325.

Movado Connect will have five customisable dials designed and inspired by Movado’s Museum dial featuring different complications, backgrounds, and watch hands.

Android Wear 2.0 will give people access to thousands of apps including Android Pay and Google Assistant for performing tasks and getting answers, directions, and timely reminders.
