Mondaine and Burton McCall confirm a third year sponsoring the WatchPro Awards

Mondaine’s UK distributor Burton McCall is delighted to confirm its sponsorship of the WatchPro Awards for a third consecutive year.

The gala black tie dinner takes place at 8 Northumberland, adjacent to London’s Trafalgar Square, on November 6.

Burton McCall, with its four Swiss watch brands Victorinox, Mondaine, Luminox and Wenger, have sponsored the WatchPro Awards since their first year in 2016.

“We are really proud to be sponsoring the awards for the third successive year and from a very strong inaugural Awards in 2016 we saw an equally impressive Awards in 2017. I am very confident that WatchPro will impress again in 2018. Great work,” says Colin Lee, managing director of Burton McCall. “My feeling is that the original Awards started very strongly, so to improve the following year is a credit to the WatchPro team,” he adds.

The WatchPro Awards have grown from around 180 guests in the first year to 220 last year and most likely 250 VIPs from the industry in 2018.

“It is an absolute pleasure sponsoring the event and where it feels like more of a celebration of our work in the trade and with retailers it further enhances the position of our lovely brand Mondaine with both,” Mr Lee describes. “It always feels like the evening flies past so quickly as we see so many friends from retail and the industry. I love sharing a drink with my esteemed colleagues from the industry and it’s a lovely environment to get to know the retailers a little bit better over a glass of champagne.”

Sponsoring the Awards is a way of thanking the industry for its hard work and, for Mr Lee, an opportunity to remind retailers about the quality of its portfolio. “There is no doubt that 2018 has come with its challenges but our four brands are very solid, Swiss Made, great price and value for money and this has helped us in the difficult retail environment,” he says.
