Military watch collection stolen from Leeds

West Yorkshire Police are asking retailers to be vigilant after a collection of military watches were stolen from a property on the Gildersome area of Leeds.

The collection of military watches had been built up over 50 years and include an Omega Seamaster about £300 and two Smith watches both also valued at about £300 each.

PC Ellen Wilson said: "These watches are very distinctive and I would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered them for sale.

"This collection has been accrued over 50 years and the watches hold a significant sentimental value to the complainant and I would like to hear from anyone with information; this can be done confidentially through Crimestoppers if necessary.”

As well as the watches, the criminals stole a large quantity of antique gold jewellery and about £4,000 in cash from the house, which was unoccupied at the time.

Retailers who believe they might have information are asked to contact PC Ellen Wilson at the Neighbourhood Crime Team at Holbeck Police Station via 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
