Maurice Lacroix presents a modern collection of Retrograde automatics

Maurice Lacroix produced its first Retrograde watches shortly after it was founded in 1975. Ever since, the style has played a key role in the history of the Swiss watchmaker.

On its 30th anniversary, the brand unveiled its first double Retrograde model, featuring a manufacture movement and, this year, is returning to the genre with two types of Retrograde watches: the Masterpiece Double Retrograde and the Masterpiece Moon Retrograde.

The Masterpiece Moon Retrograde, priced from £4,395, comes in a 43mm stainless steel case with silver, black or blue dials. The hands are diamond-cut and colored to suit the choice of dial.

The automatic manufacture movement ML192 drives hours and minutes and a date at 10 o’clock with a retrograde hand.

The day is shown along with a moonphase indication at 6 o’clock and a power reserve indication resides at 2 o’clock. The watch is supplied with a black crocodile leather strap, paired with a deployment buckle. The case features an exhibition case-back.

The Masterpiece Double Retrograde, priced from  £3,990, also in a 43mm steel case features hours, minutes and a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, with a power reserve indicator adjacent the crown. It contains a manufacture calibre ML191.

Below noon, a retrograde hand displays the hour in a second time zone, while above 6 o’clock the date is presented with a retrograde hand.

The watch is offered with a silver or black dial, adorned with either a rhodium or a blue ‘M’ logo and matching hour markers, depending on the dial colour.

The watch is supplied on a black crocodile leather strap.
