Yoshikatsu Kawada, director and senior vice president of Grand Seiko, says he is not re-inventing Grand Seiko as it embarks on an independent path to its parent organisation, he says the job is to rediscover its roots.
The luxury Japanese watchmaker unveiled reissues of heritage models and some brand new collections at its Baselworld presentation.
“There will be continuity in the DNA of the brand, but also innovation,” Mr Kawada promised as he unveiled recreations of classics and innovative fresh models in precious metals with advanced movements.
