Loomes crowns winner of branded horse racing championship

Loomes has awarded its hand-made watch at the Loomes Championship at Rockingham International Horse Trails to winning jockey, Irishman Jonty Evans.

The hand-made Loomes wristwatch, which is made from entirely British components, was won by Evans after he reached the closest to optimum cross-country time at Rockingham.

Evans is the second Irishman to win in the Loomes Championship’s history, after Austin O’Connor won in 2014.

Riding Cooley Rorkes Drift, or ‘Art’ who he also rode at the 2016 Olympics, Evans said he was ‘very aware of the watch’ when competing.

The Loomes wristwatch is built in the company’s Stamford workshops, with prices starting from £7,850.

The Loomes Championship was devised by British Eventing to reward the most experienced riders.
