Longines uses innovative flash memory chronograph

Longines has released a unique new quartz chronograph using flash memory aimed at those involved in flat horse racing.

Because of the need to record many intermediary times in equestrian events, Longines had to develop a new quartz movement for the 41mm Conquest 1/100th Horse Racing.

The L440 movement includes a microcontroller with a flash memory that allows the watch to be reset instantly and allows intermediary times to be recorded.

The bright steel chronograph has a silver dial with central hours and minutes, date aperture and small seconds at the 6 o’clock position. Two central chrono hands (one in silve and the other red) record seconds and 1/100 seconds in conjunction with a 30-minute counter at 2 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at the 10 o’clock.

The £890 model is also fitted with a steel bracelet and a butterfly clasp.
