Leicester produces another title winner as Lumbers is named Retailer of the Year

Lumbers has been named Retailer of the year by the National Association of Jewellers.

The Leicester-based jeweller opened a massive 16,000 square foot boutique earlier this year that managing director Dominic Gomersall describes as “probably the largest luxury goods store outside of London”.

The store even contains its own restaurant where the professional kitchen team can serve up to 120 guests.

The move to a larger, prime high street location was about far more than just attracting additional footfall.

It was part of a plan to attract the best possible portfolio of luxury watch brands to the city.

“As the trade understands and hears the success of our current brands and new brands within the new premises, I believe a few more international names that we have courted for some time will, at last, open discussions to have SIS units within the most desirable shop of our premier city,” Mr Gomersall explained.

The line up of watches now includes Breitling, Omega, Hublot, Breguet and Mont Blanc.
