Just three weeks to go until Hong Kong Watch Fair

There are just three weeks to go until Asia’s biggest watch exhibition, the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair opens its doors from September 8-12.

The Chinese watch market may be facing headwinds thanks to a recent currency devaluation and authorities discouraging ostentatious displays of wealth, but the Hong Kong exhibition remains a magnet for the world’s leading brands.

Visitors this year will see around 780 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions.

Joining the show for the first time, exhibitors from Bermuda, Denmark, Lebanon and Russia are expecting to tap into the overseas markets and build up their brand images through this integrated platform.

Like its European competitor, Baselworld, the Hong Kong watch show is divided into several zones. The Salon de TE, for example, will showcase emerging brands such as Buler, Cyma, Coinwatch, DOXA, Enicar, Rodania and Sultana. The zone also includes the Swiss Independent Watchmaking Pavilion.

The heart of the show, however, is the World Brand Piazza, which this year features limited edition and rare watches from 13 world-famous brands including Blancpain, BOVET, Breguet, BVLGARI, Chopard, CORUM, DeWitt, FRANCK MULLER®, Glashütte Original, H. Moser & Cie, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget and Zenith.

A number of events run alongside the exhibition including the Hong Kong International Watch Forum, which will gather top leaders from worldwide watch and clock associations to share market insights and build connections, including Dr Jean-Daniel Pasche of Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH and Mr Patrice Besnard of Chambre Française L’horlogerie.
