Just how rich are watch CEOs? They’re among the richest in the world

Forbes has come out with its 2018 billionaires list and watch business owners are riding high.

Clocking in at number 4 on the 2,208 strong list of global billionaires is Bernard Arnault & Family.

Behind only the creator of Amazon, the creator of Microsoft and a legendary investor, Mr Arnault at number 4 on the overall list is the richest man in luxury goods.

Mr Arnault (pictured top) is the Chairman and CEO of LVMH and his net worth is estimated at $76 billion. Mr Arnault oversees 70 brands that include watch brands Dior, Hublot, Louis Vuitton, Tag Heuer, and Zenith.

Running down the list to number 30, Francois Pinault & Family boast a net worth of $28.4 billion. Mr Pinault is the founder of Kering French Luxury Group, a company with controlling stake in Gucci Group, Ulysse Nardin and Girard-Perregaux.

Just shy of making the top 10% of the list is the man and family behind Richemont Group. Coming in at number 228 and having a worth of $7 billion, Richemont Group chairman Johann Rupert oversees watch brands Cartier, Montblanc, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, A. Lange & Sohne, Roger Dubuis, Piaget, Panerai, Vacheron Constantin, Baume & Mercier, Van Cleef & Arpels and more.
