German watchmaker Junghans is releasing a collection of timepieces and a clock inspired by the late architect, painter, sculptor and product designer Max Bill.
The Max Bill Hand-Winding is based on the original design drawings made by Bill. Luminous markers and points at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock and a double point at 12 o’clock allow for good readability, even in darkness. Max Bill’s consistency in design is also reflected in the Junghans lettering on the dial, as the font of the letters is identical to that of the numerals.
Those in search of exacting precision will enjoy the Max Bill Automatic , which has unusual typography and positioning of the minute numerals outside the scale, setting the model apart. The hour hand extends to the hour digits, which are set close to the centre of the dial, whilst the minute hand crosses the indices and reaches the minute scale.
Featuring long, slim hour markers and a clearly crafted minute scale, the Max Bill Chronoscope has chronograph hands whose arrangement underlines the symmetry of this timepiece. The striking start-stop buttons complement the design to perfection.
Women will enjoy the Max Bill Ladies, which combines authentic design with stylish colours and captivating reductionist simplicity. Lastly, the Max Bill Table Clock harkens to the Bauhaus era and is also based on original drawings by the late designer, dating to the 1950s.
