IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer Automatic Edition ‘Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau’

IWC expands Aquatimer collection with three new dive watches

IWC Schaffhausen has revealed three new Aquatimer models ahead of SIHH.

The new models expand a collection which was last overhauled in 2014 with a limited edition chronograph, a new colourway for the Automatic 2000 and a special edition in tribute to famed conservationist and explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

Just 500 pieces of the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition ‘La Cumbre Volcano’ will be produced in purposeful black and red. The flyback chronograph is water resistant to 300m and dedicated to a volcano in the Galapagos Islands. The automatic watch also has a power reserve of 68 hours and uses IWC’s internal/external rotating bezel concept.

A new variation of the Aquatimer Automatic 2000 places yellow hands and markings on a black dial for maximum legibility. The automatic model is water resistant to 2,000m with 44-hour power reserve and the same internal/external rotating bezel system.

However it is IWC’s tribute to famed diver Jacques-Yves Cousteau that will make the biggest splash above the waves. The Aquatimer Automatic Edition ‘Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau’ opts for the classical pairing of stainless steel and deep blue. Water resistant to 300m with 42-hour power reserve and IWC’s internal/external rotating bezel system, the watch also features a relief image of Cousteau on the caseback.
