IWC displays its craftsmanship at Harrods showcase

IWC Schaffhausen watches have been selected by Harrods to appear as part of a series of exclusive product launches that celebrate craftsmanship at its highest level.

IWC will appear alongside strap maker and luxury leather manufacturer Santoni as part of the Harrods ‘Made With Love’ campaign that begins at the height of the uber-rich summer influx to Knightsbridge on August 1.

The event, which runs until the end of August , will get customers involved in an array of bespoke activities from the world’s finest brands, ranging from exclusives and limited-edition products through to custom-made and personalisation services.

To highlight their exquisite range of uniquely individual Santoni straps, available on selected IWC timepieces; such as the new Portugieser Perpetual Calendar and Portofino Midsize Collection, IWC has invited a leather craftsman from Santoni to demonstrate their skills in the IWC Schaffhausen Boutique, located in the Fine Watch Room at Harrods.

For one day only, on Saturday 8th August 2015, Santoni’s leather artisans will be demonstrating their famous skills in ‘anticatura’; the painstaking, multi-layered colouring process of the custom-made leather watch straps available exclusively on selected IWC timepieces.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer customers such a rare insight into the artisanship and skill that goes into creating every one of IWC’s bespoke Santoni watch straps,” says IWC brand director Simon Chambers. “Santoni has proven an ideal partner for the brand, sharing our high standards of excellence with meticulous attention to detail and a love of craftsmanship.”
