Danish watch brand Obaku has joined forces with Inter City Group, becoming the latest name to join the renowned watch distributor’s portfolio, which includes Fiorelli, Superdry, Karen Millen and Police.
The agreement began in spring/summer of this year, initially launching in 50 H Samuel stores and some selected independent retailers throughout the UK.
Inter City Group will be distributing Obaku’s existing collection of watches, created by Danish designers Lau Liengaard Ruge and Christian Mikkelsen.
Henriette Arvin, brand director for Obaku, can’t wait to see the partnership grow: "We are very excited to be launching Obaku within the UK market. With our strong collection of clean, minimalist watches and the excellent service of Inter City Group to their retailers, we are sure Obaku will be a great success within the UK."
Inter City Group’s CEO, Mark Winter, agrees with Arvin: “We are delighted to have been selected as the distributor of Obaku timepieces, a brand that is already established in many countries internationally, and which has great potential within the UK."
Founded in 2007, the Danish watch brand takes its inspiration from a unique hybrid of Danish and Chinese culture, combining the Danish minimalist look with the simplicity of the Zen philosophy.
This inspiration shows through in the aesthetic of the timepieces, which have a simple, clean design while maintaining a high degree of functionality.
