Ingersoll sponsors WatchPro Awards

American watch brand Ingersoll, which is owned by Zeon, has sponsored the inaugural WatchPro Awards.

The hugely anticipated ceremony, which will be held at Shakespeare’s Globe in London on 26 October, will honour the best watch retailers currently operating in the UK.

One of the elements that’s included in Ingersoll’s sponsorship is to have a gift bag on each seat for all assembled guests, which will include a scratch card competition voucher and candy, to put an American stamp on proceedings.

Ingersoll joins Grand Seiko and Hirsch Watch Bracelets, who have already signed up as category sponsors.

Zeon’s managing director, Simon Gilham, is very excited about the prospect of the UK watch industry finally having its own awards ceremony. “Having been a part of this industry for over 18 years, it [an awards ceremony] has always been something that was clearly needed and a missed opportunity.

“We work in an amazing industry full of great people that are passionate and truly care about their customers and the products they sell; hopefully it will be the first of many that set the benchmarks that we all strive towards.

Gilham is equally enthused at the prospect of bringing key individuals in the watch trade together for another big social event, with the WatchPro Hot 100 currently being the only night in the calendar that does this.

“This sponsorship is a great opportunity to be a part of an event that acknowledges this great industry within which we all work and the chance to enjoy each other’s company and party a little!

The venue is also a big plus for Gilham, who can’t wait to get inside the famous building. “Shakespeare’s Globe is a truly iconic and unique venue; the perfect place to reward and acknowledge some truly award winning performances!”

Tickets for the WatchPro Awards 2016 cost £300 each inc. VAT or £3,000 for a table of 10 and can be purchased through Eventbrite HERE.
