IN VIDEO: Artist explains collaboration with new brand Dial Watches

Newly launched watch brand Dial Watches has put the traditional art of paper cutting front and centre of its debut model.

The debut is a collaboration with British artist Sarah Dennis, who has created a paper cut design featuring a butterfly and woodland for the model’s dial.

The new brand aims to ‘bring together modern art and classic watchmaking’ with a series of such artist collaborations.

Faisal Nasim, founder and chief executive officer of Dial Watches, said, “We’re very excited to introduce our art-on-the-wrist concept and first Dial watch collaboration with renowned British paper artist, Sarah Dennis. Our art-focused and exclusive butterfly and woodland design creates a new offering for the female watch market, by combining traditional paper-cutting with collage.

“We selected Sarah Dennis to collaborate with on our very first watch as Sarah’s work, inspired by nature in fairy tales and whimsical childhood dreams, perfectly embodies the Dial brand ethos – to set your imagination free.”

The design will feature on models using gold and rose gold-toned cases, each watch is supplied with two handmade leather straps in navy and cream. The watches use Miyota movements and currently retail for £125 on the brand’s website.
