Hugh Rice chooses Harrogate for tenth store

Jewellers Hugh Rice has opened a new store in Harrogate in front of a host of invited local dignitaries and Olympic boxing gold medallist, Luke Campbell MBE, who is sponsored by the retailer.

The family-owned jewellers opened the new store on James Street with guests including local MP Andrew Jones and Harrogate Mayor and Mayoress Councillors Jim Clark and Shirley Fawcett receiving advice on jewellery design while Hugh Rice experts provided a free jewellery cleaning service.

Paul Rice, managing director at Hugh Rice, said: "This store is another exciting chapter in our history. The launch was a great success, we’re already getting brilliant feedback from our customers and we’re looking forward to a long and happy future in the town."

The Hugh Rice company was founded in 1971 and operates stores in Hull and Beverley as well as seven others dedicated to the popular Pandora brand. The Harrogate store is the latest addition to the group and is home to a host of jewellery and watch brands including Breitling and Omega. The company now employs a team of over 200.

Andrew Jones MP says: “Having a long-standing family business such as Hugh Rice invest in Harrogate shows the confidence they, and other businesses, have in our local economy. The store is a fantastic addition to the area and has obviously come at some considerable investment. I wish them all the very best for the future.”
