HOT 100 RETAIL TITANS: James Sellors, owner, CW Sellors

Having grown up enthused with the oval track racing, James Sellors spends much of his spare time working and building race cars so he headed straight to his local racetrack Buxton Raceway for his Hot 100 profile photoshoot where he surprised us with a WatchPro logo on the car.

“I find adrenaline fuelled full contact racing to be the perfect release from my busy work schedule, having raced since an early age, winning the National Banger points championship over a number of years,” James explains.
It’s good to have somewhere to go when you’re in a business that in the last 12 months has opened two new stores, whilst overseeing a number of refits and enjoying fantastic growth.

“Despite challenging times we have continued to exceed sales forecasts, working closely with our suppliers to deliver the best in terms of quality and service. We have managed to double our watch business within 12 months and C W Sellors has recently become the appointed distributor for Glycine watches for the UK.”

James continues: “The acquisition and continued growth pattern for C W Sellors Jura watches has to be one of my greatest achievements, it has been a great success and changed the way we work. As a leading luxury watch specialist boutique, it has enabled us to compete on a national scale.”

C W Sellors has exciting plans for the future, with watches remaining a key area of the business alongside the company’s British jewellery manufacture.

As a team, the company will be exploring new opportunities to increase its network of retail stores, whilst developing the online platform as multi-channel selling will continue to play a big role in C W Sellors retail environment. The business will also be looking to take on new luxury brands.

“We hope to have our new Luxury Watch and Fine Jewellery visitors centre complete within the next two to five years, which will become a unique shopping destination within the Peak District, providing a new luxury shopping experience,” James concludes.
