Guests at the hugely anticipated WatchPro Hot 100 party coming up this Wednesday have been warned to plan their travel arrangements in advance, in light of the impending 24-hour Tube strike.
After months of talks to resolve pay disputes arising from the upcoming introduction of all-night tube services, London Underground made a “full and final” offer today, which unions are set to reject.
Although there could be a last-minute resolution in the next 48 hours before the WatchPro Hot 100 in association with Swarovski party (which starts at 19.45 at Kensington Roof Gardens on July 8), the organisers of the event are advising that guests should assume there will be no underground travel option.
“Most guests will be arriving to a venue as glamourous as Kensington Roof Gardens in cars and taxis anyway, but it’s important that we flag up this issue for those few that were hoping to use the Tube,” said WatchPro Hot 100 event director, Daniel Malins. “Uber, black cabs and buses are the modes of transport that I would strongly recommend, but those that arrive on Boris Bikes will still be welcome!” he quipped.
The WatchPro Hot 100 in association with Swarovski will be the third annual installment of the event, which has become the biggest night in the UK watch industry’s calendar. It celebrates the achievements of the 100 most innovative and influential individuals working in the UK watch trade.
