Hirsch pulls Magic Buckle out of its hat

Hirsch has created a folding buckle collection of watch straps designed to have broad appeal to owners of quality timepieces.

The company says it understands why international visitors to exhibitions like Baselworld are fixated on luxurious, highly technical, complex, sophisticated and prestigious chronometers, but points out that one of the greatest contributors to the beauty of a timepiece is the bracelet or strap it is worn with.

The latest folding buckle collection aims to meet the needs and tastes of a wide audience thanks to a choice of nine colours, 12 choices of material for the upper and five for the lining.

The company says that the straps offer the highest level of precision meets the diversity and variability of leather in this collection. The specially designed folding clasp system ensures proper fit on the wrist and great wearing comfort.

The secret behind the Magic Buckle is an innovative clasp mechanism that makes 18 closing options on one single basis possible.

Hirsch’s Wolfang Sima, who developed the clasp, describes the buckle as a modular system based on a few very clever components. “It takes no more than three simple moves – folding, pushing, clicking – to close the selected bracelet on its wearer’s wrist. Simple, fast, safe,” he says.
