Hirsch supports WatchPro Awards 2016

Watch bracelet manufacturer Hirsch has become the first company to back The WatchPro Awards 2016 as a category sponsor.

Hirsch will be sponsoring the Multiple Luxury Retailer of the Year category, one of 12 awards honouring the achievements of UK watch retailers at a glittering event taking place on September 26th at the Globe Theatre on London’s Southbank.

Simon Walker, UK country manager, spoke to WatchPro about Hirsch’s involvement.

How important and beneficial to the UK watch industry is it for it to now have its own awards night?

Given that the knowledge and expertise that goes into both manufacturing and selling a quality watch at least matches that associated with a fine piece of jewellery, it’s absolutely right that the best retailers are recognised for their achievements, and that ‘best practice’ is encouraged throughout the industry.

What will Hirsch be looking forward to most about sponsoring the Multiple Luxury Retailer of the Year category?

It’s bound to have a great short-list of retailers deserving of the award in the category – and a chance to catch up with many friends and contacts at the awards evening

What does this sponsorship say about Hirsch’s ambitions within the UK watch trade?

We’ve been selling our range to high quality watch retailers in the UK for over 35 years, and have worked in partnership with the major watch brands for even longer than that – our participation in these inaugural awards underlines our continued commitment to watch retailers and manufacturers in the UK.

 What do you think about the venue – Shakespeare’s Globe theatre?

As my old man used to say, ‘Retail is 20% knowledge and 80% theatre’; so what better venue for an event celebrating the stars of retail theatre, especially in this anniversary year?
