Gucci Dive represents the Kering-managed fashion powerhouse’s first serious commercial exploration of the divers watch sector.

Gucci has for many years occupied the enviable position of being a fashion watch brand operated by a company that knows a thing or two about making luxury watches (JeanRichard, Girard-Perregaux and Ulysse Nardin are after all Kering watch brands too).

As such, Gucci offers a premium product with sapphire crystals, Swiss-made manufacturing and, of course, a corresponding price premium, lifting its watches above the multitude of other fashion watch brands.

The Gucci Dive quartz collection is a seriously impressive, and potentially hugely profitable, first crack at the divers watch market. The watches boast real-world specifications such as 200m water resistance and unidirectional rotating bezel alongside some solid design work that somehow manages to craft a divers watch with its own identity in spite of 60-something years of entrenched design philosophy.
