On the surface the idea of encasing a watch as modern in its design as the Bell & Ross BR-X1 Chronograph in rose gold would seem to be missing the point entirely. Surely a watch this futuristic and technical would work better in advanced materials such as carbon, ceramic and titanium?
Well, Bell & Ross does offer the BR-X1 Chronograph with all of those options and despite being impressive in their own right they just don’t quite hit the spot.
Add a tourbillon and a generous dash of impeccably brushed precious metal into the mix and this open-dial monopusher, column wheel chronograph becomes something very special indeed.
The grey-tinted sapphire crystal dial offers a shadowy view of the watch’s inner mechanisms, which are all beautifully finished, while registers and indices are picked out in matching gold tones. The icing on the cake for us is Bell & Ross’ signature ampersand on the tourbillon cage; a final whimsical flourish on an otherwise serious watch.
