Harrods plans huge fine watch push with historic store campaign

Harrods confirmed today that it is set to launch its first-ever storewide ‘Fine Watch takeover’ this summer.

For six weeks, from July 1, the iconic department store will market itself as the ultimate destination for fine watches by rolling out no fewer than 23 exclusive lines as part of its ‘Made with Love and Precision’ showcase.

The retailer says it has worked closely with the world’s finest watch brands to secure an “extraordinary exhibition” of men’s and ladies’ timepieces, all of which will be given their first airing at Harrods during the campaign. Some of the timepieces have even been designed especially for the occasion, it said.

The watches will be made available to customers in both the Fine Watch Room in the exhibition space and in the Brompton Road windows, marking the first fine watch window takeover in its history.

The window displays all along the Brompton Road will focus on artisan craftsmanship and rare materials:  an oversized version of each hero timepiece will be embedded into a particular piece of material in its dedicated window, carefully chosen to accentuate the distinctive identity of each brand and to highlight the provenance of design and materials in each timepiece.

As well as the window takeover, Harrods said it will work closely with participating brands to create engaging in-store customer experiences in the Fine Watch Room and around the store, highlighting the exclusive products on offer and bespoke services available.
