Halda reveals F1’s Ericsson as ambassador

Halda has signed up Swedish F1 driver Marcus Ericsson as its latest ambassador adding the latest chapter in the watch manufacturer’s association with motorsport.

Ericsson showcased his natural talent in the GP2-series before signing with Caterham F1, the team he will begin driving for this year.

“Marcus’ challenge coincides with Halda’s of competing with the best in the game. He has proven he can drive fast and we are of course very thrilled about this partnership as he will be representing Halda on an international level. We would like to wish Marcus good luck in his first F1-season and we hope to see him soon on the podium accompanied by the Halda Race Pilot on his wrist.” said Mikael Sandström, CEO of Halda Watch Co.

Halda’s motorsport pedigree stems back to the 1960s when it developed one of the first watches designed specifically for motor racing and has recently unveiled its Race Pilot, an innovative digital/mechanical solution to recording the most accurate racing times.

The Halda Race Pilot features two separate time modules – one mechanical, powered by a Zenith-produced, self-winding movement with Power Reserve indicator and Côtes de Genève and Clous de Paris decoration, and the other digital, with advanced features such as measuring G-force. Each module can be docked and locked within the watch housing depending on the situation. The watch was developed with the close co-operation of F1 drivers.
