H. Moser & Cie launches understated calendar for Baselworld this year

H. Moser & Cie strips back for its Basel complication this year, launching a minimalist perpetual calendar in deep green.

The 42mm watch is a 50-piece perpetual calendar that boasts a fumé deep green dial that sports the central hours and minutes, a power reserve indicator at the 9 o’clock, subdial for the month at the 6 and an oversized date window at the 3.

The timepiece has indexes for the hours only at 6 and 12 o’clock, as well as lacking any kind of branding you’d normally find on a luxury watch.

The white gold case houses the hand-wound HMC 800 Manufacture calibre, accounting for all the functions, including the perpetual calendar and an autonomy of 7 days.

On the reverse of the complication is the exposed movement thanks to a sapphire window, as well as an engraving of “1 of 50”.

H. Moser & Cie isn’t new to the process of creating minimalist, stripped back watches that house luxurious complications. The brand is known for creating pieces that feature no indexes at all, a statement which can be found on the brand’s latest tourbillon creation.

  1. Who in their right mind would buy a perpetual calendar that you can’t even tell the month or leap year indicator at glance? I can’t even comprehend what this H.Moser et Cie is thinking when they came out with this junk. I hope they go bust if this is what they call haute horlogerie.

  2. H Moser and Cie, use an extra hand which in this case is rather stumpy. This extra hand uses the hour indicators (if any) as the equivalent of the months so 1 equals January etc. The current position on the above picture, shows that it is December the 12th. If you have any inkling of the year you are in, then that is one item of information you don’t need. I figured that out quite easily……
