Growing Business Awards seeks best UK firms

The Growing Business Awards are searching for the best UK businesses helping to driving the UK economy into growth.

The 16th edition of the awards, supported by Lloyds Bank and the CBI, seek out the country’s SME and entrepreneur success stories with awards recognised achievements in exports, innovation and digital.

Since the awards’ inception in 1999, companies including Innocent, Tyrrells, EasyJet, Phones 4U, Zoopla and LoveFilm have been celebrated.

The 2014 awards sees the introduction of two new awards. Retail Hero will recognise business growth from e-commerce to High Street while Brand Builder of the Year will celebrate businesses achieving household name status.

Judges for this year’s awards include Zoopla CEO and founder Alex Chesterman, serial entrepreneurs Dr Stephen Fear and Lara Morgan, and Martyn Dawes, the founder of Coffee Nation.

Tim Hinton, managing director, SME & Mid Markets at Lloyds Bank, said: “It is a good time to be an entrepreneur in the UK. Signs of economic growth illustrate that SMEs and entrepreneurs are beginning to benefit from innovating and investing in a range of different sectors. We would like to encourage a wide range of entrants from across the UK that are fuelling domestic and international growth.”
