Grand Seiko has created a rose gold edition of its Spring Drive 8 day power reserve.
The watch houses the same movement as the original Spring Drive introduced in 2016, but has a completely new look. Not only is the case made from 18ct rose gold, the watch face is designed to look like a Japanese night sky in the mountains around Micro Artist Studio, which designed it.
The dial is black with stars twinkling through, adding extra depth and richness.
The sapphire case back reveals the movement with its one-piece bridge and the rubies and power reserve indicator.
Grand Seiko has also depicted the outline of Mount Fuji from the shape of the bridge and the rubies while tempered blue screws evoke the lights of the city of Suwa below the Studio’s home.
The watch, which will be on sale in September, houses the Caliber 9R01 movement in its 43mm case.
