Goldsmiths intu metrocentre unveils new showroom and brands

Goldsmiths goes upmarket with refurbished Newcastle showroom

Goldsmiths has re-opened its intu Metrocentre showroom in Newcastle.

The boutique now has new Cartier and IWC branded areas to complement the existing Omega and Breitling shop-in-shops. The dedicated consultation area for Rolex has also been extended.

The premium watch brands are complemented by upmarket jewellery including collections by Mappin & Webb, Jenny Packham, Birks and Roberto Coin as part of a drive by parent company Aurum Holdings to make Goldsmiths more luxurious and raise average transaction values.

The 286 square metre showroom was opened by deputy mayor of Gateshead, Jill Green. It is located on the lower ground floor of intu Metrocentre near Newcastle, which is Europe’s largest covered shopping and leisure centre, attracting over 21 million visitors every year.

Goldsmiths intu Metrocentre manager, Lindsay Chapman said: “The team and I have great confidence that the refurbishment will be a hit with both new and old faces as we welcome them into the new showroom surroundings. Not only has the Christmas campaign recently launched but we now have new brands and collections to fall in love with so we’re looking forward to a successful festive period and excited to see what the New Year brings.”
