Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard join the RJC

The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has announced two new members in Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard, with both watch brands meeting the ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards as established by the its member certification system. 

Girard-Perregaux, which is part of the PPR Group, had its RJC verification assessment conducted by Michel Mooser from SGS, one of the independent third-party auditing firms accredited to the RJC’s member certification system.

Michele Sofisti, chief executive of Sowind Group, owner of Girard-Perregaux, said: “We are honored to be accredited by the Responsible Jewellery Council. This certification underpins Girard-Perregaux’s belief in corporate social responsibility and sustainability, while we continue to work towards achieving the highest ethical best practices both internally and externally in our business.

"This is an encouragement to push forward with our commitment."

Fellow Sowind and PPR watch brand JeanRichard also achieved RJC certifcation and was also assesed by Michel Mooser from SGS.

Massimo Macaluso, general manager of JeanRichard, said of the certification: “Achieving RJC certification is an important public commitment.

"This is an acknowledgment of JeanRichard’s social responsibility, a conscience that is shared across the PPR Group. JeanRichard is a brand with strong values, authentic, open to the world and responsibility has become a priority. We
strongly believe that the Responsible Jewellery Council initiative will bring a completely ethical supply chain across the industry."
