G-Shock and Dazed & Confused to host design awards

G-Shock is set to host an awards ceremony in celebration of its 30th anniversary, partnering with leading fashion magazine Dazed & Confused to showcase up-and-coming talent in the fields of fashion, sport, music and art.

The G-Shock awards’ will take place in October, while the shortlist will be selected by Dazed & Confused, with a winner from each category chosen by a panel of judges and industry experts.

Each nominee will need to “demonstrate the energy and drive that epitomizes [G-Shock’s] tough, aspirational ethos”, and each winner will receive £3,000 to fund their vision.

The winners will be announced at the October ceremony, with a special £5,000 cash-prize award will be handed to who best
exemplifies G-Shock’s “spirit of toughness” in overcoming adversity to succeed. This award will be chosen by the public and is already open for nominations.

Additionally, each winner will become part of the growing number of G-Shock ambassadors that have been selected for success, recognition and determination in their respective industries.

The industry heads shortlisting and judging these awards will be revealed each month.

At present the judges for the fashion category are womenswear designer Louise Gray, Cozette McCreery of recent G-Shock partner Sibling, Dazed & Confused’s fashion editor Emma Wyman and Stephen Ayres, buyer at Liberty.
