Fossil and Armani extend contract by ten years

Fossil has extended its global licensing agreement to produce watches bearing Giorgio Armani branding until 2023.

Kosta Kartsotis, chief executive officer of Fossil Group, commented: “We are very proud of our longstanding history with the Armani group and extremely pleased to extend our partnership for another 10 years.

“Our history with the Armani group runs deep and this global licensing agreement will allow us to continue to leverage our strengths in design, innovation, production and global distribution to further grow the Armani brand and extensive line of timepieces.”

Fossil first signed an agreement to design, create and distribute watches under the Emporio Armani label with the fashion giant in 1997.

In the last few years the agreement has been expanded to include jewellery in 2002, watches under the Armani Exchange label in 2008 and an exclusive collection for the Emporio Armani Swiss made earlier this year.

Livio Proli, chief executive officer at Giorgio Armani, added: “We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the Fossil group given their position as a leader in the global watch market. Their ability to design innovative products that reflect the spirit and style of Armani, as well as their ability to create and market Swiss made timepieces gives us great confidence in the future growth of our relationship.”
