Fortis releases limited B-47 World Timer GMT

Swiss watch manufacturer Fortis has released a new world timer to celebrate its 100th anniversary, said to be "another ambitious and advanced highlight" from the brand.

The B-47 World Timer GMT has the brand’s new calibre F-2022 and has been unveiled in a black and silver centennial edition, limited to 2,012.

A second model, in blue, has also been made, with the center of the dial design to represent the Earth as seen from the North Pole, with all 24 time zones indicated.

Fortis said: "Like the earth itself, the globe is turning anti-clockwise and applies to the 24 hour scale next to it. This new Fortis timepiece allows a perfect global time tracking".

The B-47 World Timer GMT also has a zero meridian mark, designed as a red line, which acts as a 24 hour hand and can be set as a second time zone. The fifteen red dots located on the different continents correspond with the engraved capital names on the bi-directional rotating bezel, which offers to monitor a third time zone.
