Swiss private label manufacturer Walca SA has appointed ex-Burton McCall chief Derek Salter as a consultant.
The move comes as part of a deliberate attempt to strengthen its position in the UK, which is a market that Salter knows inside out from his 40 years working in the industry.
Most famous for his role at watch distributor Burton McCall, Salter has experience and expertise in product development, business strategy, marketing and sales.
Walca’s 30-strong team of in-house designers, technicians and watchmakers in Switzerland is complemented by 10 experts in Hong Kong and China, along with the new appointment of Salter as a consultant.
The company will look to work with fashion, sports and traditional watch brands in the UK, working with Salter to assess strategy and positioning its clients.
