First two rose gold Zenith Defy timepieces find their way into Harrods

The Defy El Primero 21 Special Edition in a rose gold case is launching exclusively at Harrods this month.

The Knightsbridge department store has secured two of the pieces before any other retailer in the UK.

Zenith launched the Defy El Primero at Baselworld, describing the watch as the world’s most accurate series-made chronograph.

Helen David, chief merchant of Harrods says she is delighted to have secured such scarce timepieces. “We are very excited about the future of Zenith, under the expert guidance of horology genius Jean-Claude Biver, and we are thrilled to be launching the new Defy El Primero exclusively in Europe, marking the beginning of this exciting new journey. With its skeletonised rose gold dial, and sporty rubber strap inlaid with alligator, the Defy El Primero exemplifies the bold new aesthetic, which we are delighted to now be able to share with Harrods clients.”

The 100th of a second chronograph is housed in a 44mm rose gold case reminiscent with an open-worked dial.

It is powered by a TIME Lab-Chronometer certified in-house movement driving a hundredth of a second display by means of a central hand that performs a full rotation. Its double-chain structure is based on two regulators, made of Carbon-Matrix Carbon Nanotube composite, a patented new material that is insensitive to magnetic fields and temperature gradients to a degree well above existing norms.
