FHH launches global horology certification exams

A Swiss organisation dedicated extolling and preserving the virtues of Swiss-made watches has launched an international examination process aimed to certifying the knowledge of retailers.

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) launched the HH Certification process in New York at the weekend, an exam designed to certify levels of horological knowledge mainly aimed at retail staff although open to anyone within the industry.

Exams will be held at key cities around the world, posing 160 multiple choice questions over two hours under exam conditions. Each question requires that the participant attach a level of confidence to each answer submitted.

Questions range from subjects including technical knowledge and materials to brand awareness and proprietary innovations. Three levels of certification will be issued depending on the final score.

The first HH Certification exam will take place in New York City in April, costing US $385, with more cities to follow. For more information visit www.hhcertification.org.
